This role handles all aspects of product development, including market-based acquisitions, content development, and production, ensuring projects meet revenue targets and quality standards. Additionally, the editor champions new titles to the sales team, maintains accurate marketing assets, and cultivates relationships with key authors and community organizations to drive the imprint's success.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee the acquisition strategy of new projects for the imprint.
- Find and develop talented authors and publications.
- Establish a strong pipeline and manage its projects and resources according to budget / plan.
- Develop a 3-year rolling publication strategy to align with imprint and revenue goals, and update per shifting market trends and company goals.
- Manage all aspects of product development including strategic market-based acquisition, new and repackaged content development, contract execution, author recruitment / management, editing, layout, and production.
- Establish budgets and plans to inform projects and resource allocation to meet the revenue targets for the imprint.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the expected quality level.
- Serve as project / imprint champion, present new titles to the sales team and with key customers on a seasonal basis.
- Serve as the advocate to build excitement and product knowledge so teams are set up for success when approaching buyers.
- Ensure the metadata and marketing assets are accurate for every title published.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key authors, influencers, and community organizations for the categories of the imprint.
