POSITION OVERVIEW: The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations at the Hickam Hale Aina Dining Facility to provide food attendant services, to include the Flight Kitchen, key personnel and training for individuals with disabilities. Services include food preparation, patron eligibility screening, cashier, cash deposit, bill and coin fund, housekeeping, sanitation, table setting, special meal support, cleaning, preventative maintenance and equipment repair, extended meal for Special Services/Deployment Temporary Duty, and quality assurance.Performance is measured in terms of the facilities overall performance, quality assurance evaluations, customer comments, cost control, quality control and sanitation and personnel management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Implementation and Infrastructure
- Supervise and train food service staff to perform food attendant services as described in the Performance Work Statement
- Schedule work of staff, including approval of time and attendance and leave requests to ensure proper coverage.
- Review and revise attendant food services training curriculum as necessary to fulfill services as described in the Performance Work Statement, including but not limited to: food preparation, patron eligibility screening, cashiering, housekeeping and cleaning, table setting.
- Utilize proper training techniques to train new employees.
- Participate in food preparation and tasks related to food attendance services, to teach and train employees.
- Correct mistakes in work as needed while providing support and encouragement.
- Train staff to follow proper procedures for clocking in and out.
- Ensure that all staff follow all rules, regulations and sanitary guidelines.
- Inform and work with staff in communicating with families, care providers, counselors, funding source representatives, and co-workers.
- Record daily headcounts and cash collections for each meal period.
- Represents as alternate contractor in government representative meetings. Accompanies quality assurance evaluators on inspections.
- Report's workplace injuries according to established procedures including calling Medcor immediately for instructions to care for injury and follow-up with incident report in a timely manner.
- Conducts periodic and unannounced quality assurance inspections.
- Identifies military identification cards, meal cards; read military orders, and record menu items sales.
- Decorate the Hale Aina Dining Facility with government provided decorative materials for holidays and special occasions. Arrange tables and chairs for meetings and group meals then return them to the original location after the function is over. Will also be required to dress tables and provide water and coffee service.
WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS:
Scheduled to work 5 days a week. Thursdays through Mondays: 5:30am-2pm. Days off: Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Hours and work days, including weekends and holidays, may vary due to operational needs and contract requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Required
- Education: High school diploma or Certificate of Completion or equivalent.
- Experience: Two years of experience including supervisory work in food service industry.
- Clearance/Certification: 1) TB clearance, 2) Criminal background check, 3) Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, 4) Child Protective Services/Adult Protective check, 5) Military Base access.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
CPR/First Aid Certification; Bloodborne Pathogens certification (Obtain on the job)
