Position Summary:
Provide leadership to position the organization at the forefront of the community. Strategically advance the organization’s mission and objectives and promote revenue, profitability and growth as the organization. Oversee Chamber operations to insure growth, efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates with governing board in charting and implementing LDECC’s mission in response to changing needs.
- Provides leadership in the conception, planning, development and implementation of organization business plans to the Board of Directors and acts as member (ex officio) of the Board.
- Recommends, develops, and updates strategic long-and short-range plans to support LDECC’s philosophy and goals.
- Informs board about current trends, problems and program and administrative activities.
- Participates and coordinates selection and training of new board members.
- Coordinates with the board, staff and other personnel the monitoring of activities to ensure the fulfillment of the community's needs for quality services.
- Develops, secures approval of and implements policies and procedures.
- Coordinates efforts of board and administrative staff in the recruitment, development, performance evaluation of staff.
- Oversees the business and financial affairs of LDECC and fiscal management including accounting, budgeting, internal controls and timely reporting.
- Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation or quality of services.
- Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the Chamber, including sales, fundraising, investments, and advisory.
- Review monthly activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing service delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Continually monitors operations, programs, and physical properties. Initiates appropriate changes.
- Encourages integration within the community through effective communication. Responsible for strong public relations and marketing programs.
- Represents LDECC in its relationships with other organizations, and government agencies.
- Provides assistance to managers in establishing department philosophy and objectives related to staffing and performance standards, policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Serves as liaison and channel of communication between the board and its committees, the administrative staff.
- Resolves any administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful atmosphere.
- Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest chamber trends and developments.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned and requested.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related administration or business administration, or comparable experience.
- Minimum of seven years administrative level experience
- Strong community presence
- Excellent professional written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly proficient in strategic planning and execution; contracting, negotiating, and change management; examining and re-engineering operations and procedures; formulating policy; and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources; analyze and interpret financial data; develop and deliver presentations; and identify and secure funding/revenue sources.
- Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manager several projects.

Hours: 25-30 hours weekly (9am-2pm Monday-Friday, plus events)
Pay: $20-$30 Hourly Bonuses
