What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breakfast Attendant position at Lancaster Arts Hotel?
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Breakfast Attendant is often the first friendly face a guest encounters in the morning. Guests appreciate attentive and efficient service while also having access to a source of information about the hotel and the surrounding area. Ensuring a happy and welcoming experience while providing the highest level of service for every guest is the number one goal of the Breakfast Attendant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Prepare and display food items as needed each day (i.e. coffee and other beverage items, hot buffet items, fruits, pastries, cereals, spreads, etc.)
Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment
Maintain interaction with staff and guests to ensure guest satisfaction
Prepare and serve food using safe food handling and storage guidelines
Appropriately package any food items to be used the following day
Inventory food and beverages supplies as needed each day
Maintain cleanliness of any food and/or pantry equipment, deep cleaning as directed
Setup and breakdown breakfast area in conjunction with scheduled events
Maintain cleanliness of guest seating area for the duration of the breakfast period
Expediently remove trash from receptacles as needed
Respond to guest complaints, special requests and take action to ensure guest satisfaction
Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
Communicate any maintenance issues according to appropriate procedure
May regularly assist with other projects
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS& ABILITIES
Knowledge of food service and sanitation is preferred
Accuracy and speed for executing assigned tasks and job responsibilities
Ability to work a variety of days, including weekends and holidays
Exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to exercise good judgment and self-control
Good comprehension and communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through verbal communication
Must demonstrate enthusiasm, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty
Must be detailed oriented, able to plan, prioritize, multi-task and meet job responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to operate safely in the workplace
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Experience in food service is preferred
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
