The Lancaster Chamber is seeking a part-time Data Management & Outreach Intern to assist in preparing our Wage & Policies Report. The internship will run Spring 2025 from January-May. This internship has a hybrid model and will require presence onsite at the Lancaster office 1-2 days weekly.
The Lancaster Chamber’s Wage & Policies Report provides a comprehensive benchmarking tool for companies to stay competitive by providing local wage data and information on relevant company policies.
Objectives:
- Revise and prepare the next Wage & Policies Survey for distribution to the business community.
- Conduct outreach to Chamber-identified employer groups to encourage survey participation.
- Validate, aggregate, and analyze data for distribution to the business community.
- Prepare and launch the results via the Wage & Policies Report for the business community.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting the Lancaster Chamber in administering the Wage and Benefits Survey:
- Utilize SurveyMonkey to develop and revise the Wage & Policies Survey with consideration to business feedback and efficiency.
- Update the Chamber’s Master list of questions in Word for business use to prepare for data entry.
- Maintain an Excel database of occupations listed on the survey for business use to prepare for data entry.
- Promote participation in the current Wage & Policies Survey by conducting outreach to past participants, Chamber-identified business groups, and human resources professionals.
- Maintain accurate contact information for participating companies in the Chamber’s database.
- Maintain contact with Wage & Policies Survey participants, evaluate validity of data entry, and ensure timely communication upon report completion.
- Aggregate the data using Excel, examining the averages of the wage data and determining percentages and other relevant data metrics for the policy data.
- Prepare a series of materials for distribution to the business community, including a primary full-scale Wage & Policies Report.
- Assist with other data management projects as needed.
Position Requirements:
- Abide and follow The Chamber’s internal vision statement.
- Interest and/or experience in data analysis
- Interest and experience in creating infographics and other data-driven marketing materials.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications and database experience
- Proficiency with data tracking and scrubbing
- Ability to utilize SurveyMonkey.
- Ability to execute all duties for the Lancaster Chamber in a professional manner, while working with Chamber Members and community stakeholders
Outcomes:
- The ability to coordinate a large-scale data project.
- Experience working under deadlines with targeted expectations.
- Data analysis experience – including database maintenance and data scrubbing.
- Working in a professional organization with diverse clients and stakeholders
- Limited event planning experience
- Experience preparing data reports for the business community.
- Ability to communicate progress to supervisors and organizational leaders.
Additional Information:
The schedule for this internship is part time and flexible and able to be completed in a hybrid work environment. THIS IS NOT A FULLY REMOTE OPPORTUNITY.
