Introduction to Health Careers Instructor

JOB SUMMARY: This cluster program, with a combination of subject matter and experiences, is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level employment in a minimum of three related health occupations under the supervision of a licensed health care professional. Instruction consists of core course content with clinical experiences in one or two health related occupations. The core curriculum consists of planned courses for introduction of health careers, basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, legal and ethical aspects of health care and communications, and at least three planned courses for the knowledge and skills for the occupational area such as medical assisting, ward clerk, nursing assisting, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 4 years of experience in the field of nursing
• A graduate of an approved school of professional nursing AND currently licensed as an RN in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania OR PA State licensed in the following areas: Chiropractic, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Podiatry, or Psychology
• Be willing to complete college level coursework to obtain a vocational teaching certificate
• Desire to work with high school students to promote success in the industry or at the post-secondary level
• Child Abuse, PA State Criminal, and FBI Clearances

Monday- Friday; approximately 7:40 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.; 189 days per year

SALARY:
Emergency/Intern Cert: $57,703 - 59,503; Vocational I: $64,951 - $68,058; Vocational II: $71,086 - $74,386
