What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Reconditioning Detailer position at Lancaster County Motors?
This position will be responsible for the overall cleaning and refurbishing new and used vehicles to dealership specifications and time allowances.
Individual must be very motivated, team player, able to multitask, and very trusting. As this position is a multitude of different tasks daily, sometimes buddied up with another employee or without supervision.
Job Duties Include:
- Washes vehicle exterior, using cleaning solution, water, cloths, brushes and clay bar clean the surfaces
- Corrects paint where needed using cloth or buffing machine
- Vacuums vehicle interiors to remove loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner.
- Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
- Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to vinyl or leather surfaces and treat fabrics with spot- and stain- resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components.
- Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.
- Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following recommendations of the product's manufacturer.
- Understands and delivers to the specific requirements of the customers
- Inspects the vehicles thoroughly
- Maintains the proper function of all service tools and equipment
- Keeps work area neat and clean.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Must have experience as a flat rate Detailer
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- Physical requirements: regularly required to stand, crouch, and kneel; frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms and to use hands and fingers to feel objects, tools and components; occasionally required to stoop or crawl and the ability to talk and hear. Ability to lift 50lbs.
Hours:
Monday through Thursday 11:00AM to 8:00PM, Friday 11:00AM to 6:00PM, and every other Saturday 8:30AM to 4:00PM
Or
Tuesday through Thursday 11:00AM to 8:00PM, Friday 11:00AM to 6:00PM, Saturday 8:30AM to 5:00PM
