What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title Clerk position at Lancaster County Motors?
The Automotive Title Clerk will handle information regarding motor vehicle registration and processes legal documents and other state-required documents in a timely matter. The Automotive Title Clerk will use computer programs such as Microsoft Office and automotive industry software systems to perform data entry duties along with filing and operating office equipment.
Job Duties Include:
- Processes vehicle Tag and Title paperwork on all new and used vehicles sold both in state and out of state.
- Post new and used car deals.
- Records and file completed vehicle sales deals.
- Prepares tax and title documents.
- Submits all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lien holder paid off before processing title applications.
- Checks for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information is complete.
- Inputs new vehicles received into Dealer Management System.
- Bills out all dealer trades and prepares Certificates of Origin.
- Compiles and maintains a list of all outstanding title work. Reports to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provides a current list of outstanding titles to accounting at the end of month.
- Signs over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full. Prepares a monthly report to management of any funds not collected from wholesalers due to missing or incomplete title work.
- Troubleshoots and problem resolution specific to titles, odometer discrepancies, power of attorney, etc.
- Processes/registers all vehicle warranties and extended service contracts, maintaining a log of all contracts processed and mailed.
- Ensures customers receive proper documents for vehicle registration Track, document, and review title and funding status
- Performs other accounting functions and data entry.
- Maintains strict compliance with all Title laws and filing requirements.
- Maintain high level of discretion and confidentiality Familiarity with auto dealership process and car deal paperwork
