Position: Bus Monitor
Position Summary: The Bus Monitor is responsible to assist the Driver on
route with various duties to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment
when children are in our care. The Bus Monitor should function in this position in
a professional manner at all times and conduct activities to ensure compliance
with Head Start Performance Standards, ODJFS child care licensing rules, and
ODE content standards.
Qualifications/Expectations:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months’ work experience in an early childhood program
- Must possess good organization skills involving consistency, flexibility and
- Must possess adequate written and verbal communication skills
- Must have an understanding and awareness of the needs of low-income
- Must have good physical and emotional stamina.
- Must have the ability to lift / carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must work with all staff and families in a professional manner.
- Must be able and willing to accept and share additional responsibilities to
- Must be familiar with all transportation and licensing safety policies,
- Must maintain a safe, clean & healthy bus environment.
- Must demonstrate an appropriate professional demeanor and appearance at
all times.
Beginning Salary: $15.10 per hour
Work Schedule: 30 hours per week / 40 weeks per year
