What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Partnership Specialist position at Lancaster-Fairfield Community Action Agency?
Position Summary: The Family Partnership Specialist will work collaboratively with individual families to assist with family outcomes and child school readiness. Family Partnership Specialists will develop and/or support Family Partnership Agreements which identify and accesses services and resources that are responsive to each family’s needs, interests, and goals. This person has an active partnership with various community organizations to support the accomplishment of each family’s goals. The Family Partnership Specialist will participate in recruitment events and opportunities as well as offer follow-up and continued support for families in the program. The Family Partnership Specialist will work in conjunction with other Head Start and Early Head Start Staff to access and meet the needs of the family. The Family Partnership Specialist will function in a professional manner at all times and conduct activities to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
Qualifications/Expectations:
·Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field preferred.
·Must obtain a Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire if degree is not related or obtained.
·Two years’ experience working within a Social Service Agency or comparable program.
·Must be knowledgeable of Head Start Performance Standards and actively participate in the implementation and evaluation of program policies, activities, and objectives to meet program requirements.
·Must demonstrate knowledge of available services and service agencies with the community to support families’ use of community resources to make progress toward positive child and family outcomes.
·Works with families to strengthen their support networks and connections with other parents and community members who can address families’ strengths, interests, and challenges.
·Must possess good organization skills involving consistency, flexibility and structure; Computer skills recommended.
·Must possess good communication skills, have an understanding and awareness of the needs of low-income families, and be sensitive to individual differences.
·Must work with all staff and families in a professional manner. Must be able and willing to accept and share additional responsibilities to achieve team goals.
·Must demonstrate an appropriate professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
·Shows professionalism and participates actively in opportunities for ongoing professional development related to family engagement.
·Respects and responds to the cultures, languages, values, and family structures of each family.
·Partners with families to build strong parent-child relationships and supports parents as the first and lifelong educators of their children
·Works with other professionals and agencies to support coordinated, integrated and comprehensive services for families across the organization, community, and system.
Beginning Salary: Salary range $18.22 -$21.18 per hour based on education level
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week / 52 weeks per year
