Job Description
The Communications Coordinator Intern will help to create content, generate publicity and craft messaging for Lancaster Inferno. They will draft, edit, and publish press releases and web articles, while being a point of contact with our women’s teams. This person participates in ideation, strategy, planning and execution for Lancaster Inferno. This position will work directly with the Media Team.

This is an unpaid position in exchange for college credit and/or professional experience. If applicant is a resident of Pennsylvania, there may be an opportunity to apply for a paid internship via PA Career Link (must be qualified applicant - no guarantee for approval by their organization).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, proofread and publish press releases and web articles/blog posts related to Lancaster Inferno.
- Interface with local media, including newspaper, television, and websites covering local activities.
- Serve as a primary contact for club and media inquiries about the women’s teams.
- Assist in the creation and execution of a biweekly fan-facing newsletter.
- Assist with media tracking and coverage analysis.
- Manage media lists targeted specifically to maximize coverage of the women’s teams.
- Work with the social media intern on live updates on game days (home & away).
- Attend team functions, practices and or events (as needed/desired for written content).
- Contribute written content for all away/road matches (can be done remotely).
- Assist in press box operations, including preparation of announcements, player introductions, etc.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check. Attend and pass SafeSport training.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred and/or equivalent professional work experience.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and a collaborative, team-first approach.
- Excellent communication skills, with exceptional proficiencies in writing and editing.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
- Enthusiasm for the team, sports, and women's soccer
- Spanish language skills are a plus.

About Lancaster Inferno
Founded in 2008, Lancaster Inferno fields a women's pre-professional soccer team that competes in the USL W League. The First Team roster is composed of players who want to pursue their professional aspirations and features current/post college players and former professionals.
The Inferno is committed to providing a complete pathway from youth to pre-professional soccer. In addition to the pre-professional team, Inferno fields U20/U23 women’s teams during the summer months, and youth travel teams from the U9-U19 age groups year-round (Lancaster Inferno FC). Lancaster Inferno FC is the only all-girls travel soccer club in Pennsylvania that provides a player pathway from youth to pre-professional.
