Lancaster Leaf Tobacco Co Inc. is a subsidiary of Universal Corporation, the leading global leaf tobacco supplier. Lancaster Leaf manages Universal’s dark air cured tobacco operations in all relevant traditional dark air-cured origins. Operations in Lancaster, PA. consist of a processing facility, storage facility, and main office which also houses Universal’s dark air cured regional headquarters. The Company also has a cutting/flavoring line in the Dominican Republic. Lancaster Leaf supplies virtually all of the major cigar manufacturers in the U.S. with filler, binder, and wrapper from the U.S. and other origins. In addition to domestic supply, Lancaster exports filler, binder, and wrapper to international cigar manufacturers. Lancaster Leaf contracts directly with farmers in all dark air cured growing regions of the U.S. which include Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky.
Summary
The Health & Safety Coordinator at Lancaster Leaf will assist in conducting inspections, incident investigations/documentation, facilitate training, and help define the safety culture of the Company. This role will ensure all safety-related training records, incident reports and other documents are completed and filed appropriately. This role will assist with other general administrative duties as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
Perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
Enforce OSHA and warehouse rules and regulations.
Engage team members to build and maintain an integrated safety culture.
Train team members on safety requirements and other required training.
Conduct periodic safety walk-through inspections of the facility.
Complete incident/injury/near miss responses and investigations.
Assist in managing safety equipment, PPE, and supply stock and needs.
Assist with site emergency drills and monitor employee response and readiness.
Maintain required safety and health documents/files.
Perform general administrative duties as needed.
Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Ability to direct, teach and enforce team members to ensure safety compliance.
Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with an energetic attitude are of utmost importance.
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Effective verbal and written communications skills.
Strong ability to follow instructions and work with a sense of urgency.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel between Storage and Factory locations as needed.
Available to work overtime and weekends if needed.
Preferred Skills
First aid experience preferred.
Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish)
