SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for providing assistance with various health care services, for obtaining specimens, for conducting routine lab studies of specimens, and for assisting with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow and scheduling appointments and phone messages. Serve as a trained preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and for instruction of medical assistant students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain within 6 months of employment date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Prior Vascular and/or Cardiology scheduling experience
- Prior experience in a medical office environment
- Previous experience in surgical/procedural testing
