Summary
Provides a variety of materials handling functions in support of warehouse or dock operations.
- Receive, store, inspect and issue material from the assigned warehouse(s). Sort, count, mix and weigh material as requested. Package, palletize and route material to appropriate area using pallet jack, dolly, or forklift. Perform physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Identify appropriate stock locations supporting FIFO rotation and stock consolidation efforts.
- Review receiving paperwork for correctness, research and resolve stock discrepancies.
- May issue Kanban releases to replenish component inventory as required by each Kanban card.
- Use computer system and RF scan device.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Perform data entry functions.
- Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
- Unpack and inspect incoming shipments for damage and verify contents.
- May monitor and correct aging in-transit, negative in-transit, and in-inspection reports.
- Other duties as needed and directed by the supervisor.
- Knowledge of Lancer Quality Systems
- Previous shipping/receiving or warehouse related experience required.
- 10 key and data entry experience a plus.
- Knowledge of computers for tracking inventory.
- Able to complete written reports.
- Able to use miscellaneous material handling equipment (i.e.- pallet jacks, dollies).
- Detail-oriented
- Lifting required
- Must have knowledge of computer systems (MS Office)
Education and Experience
- H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred
- Minimum 6 months forklift experience required.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing for up to 8 hours, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.
