Job Description
The Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD) is seeking a talented hands-on Data Science Analyst to help drive the roadmap, adoption and execution of data science initiatives working closely with internal stakeholders and our company’s expert Data Science teams.
This person will have a background in data science, data management and manipulation, as well as analytics to report on results achieved in the program. A solid understanding of data science plays and their execution via digital marketing and commercial tactics will provide a strong base for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
A self-starter and strategic thinker who looks after the day-to-day operations and roadmap of the Marketing Data Science Program within LCD
A collaborator who works with LCD Market Development, Product Management, and other internal teams to understand business needs, identify potential opportunities and help gather data from a wide range of sources to support the program
A key point of contact for our Data Science teams who helps match business needs with existing Data Science projects/opportunities and helps drive the creation of new data science projects to support business goals
A creative thinker who can help turn insights and output from Data Science algorithms into actionable tactics to be executed via our Digital Marketing platforms and with our Commercial teams
A program/project manager who keeps track of LCD Data Science efforts and reports progress to business partners and leadership
Qualifications:
Summarized Purpose:
Performs data mining, sorting, and analysis of legacy information systems to transfer content into controlled documents and systems. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with large datasets.
Essential Functions:
• Collect, clean, and organize data from various sources.
• Perform basic statistical analyses to identify trends and patterns.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize data insights.
• Assist in data validation and ensuring data accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Document data processes and maintain data integrity.
• Support ad-hoc data requests and projects as needed.
Education and Experience:
• High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 6 years).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Applies knowledge and skills in a highly organized fashion while adhering to global SOPs and client expectations
• Strong attention to detail and skill with numbers and ability to use interactive computer programs
• Good written and verbal communication skills and a strong command of English language and
grammar
• Good organizational and analytical/problem-solving skills
• Ability to work productively with moderate supervision
• Strong customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proven flexibility, adaptability and ability to work in a team environment or independently as needed
• Must demonstrate good judgment in making decisions
• Understands project protocol and Data Validation Manual
