Duration: 12 months
Location: White Plains, NY
Pay Range: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
Schedule: Hybrid (2-3 days in office)
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday 7.5 hour work day with .5 hour unpaid lunch Paid for time worked only
Project Overview
Data Steward supports the Enterprise Data Governance Project and its aims to enable to manage its “Data-As-An-Asset” and to continue to build the data management and quality program.
This program will focus on enabling data stewardship, improving the quality of our data assets, increasing data security and protection, simplifying data integration and establishing better audit trail on data usage at Company.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
Support the department to define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity by Business Data Stewards
• Conduct data discovery stakeholder interviews with business and IT stakeholders (selected applications).
• Identify data sets, develop data flows, understand data-related processes and identify key data issues for each application.
• Update of Enterprise Data Flow diagrams and Enterprise Data Catalog inventory.
• Creation of Application Playback decks and Data Discovery report & presentation.
• Ensure and execution and success of Data Stewardships across Business Units.
• Initial onboarding and education of the DSC members.
• Ongoing conduct and operation of the DSC.
• Onboarding and operationalizing of Business Glossary into Collibra Data Governance tool.
• Planning and execution of monthly Data Governance Committee leadership meetings.
• Collaborate with Data Quality Lead to integrate data gov solutions.
• Execution of workshops to collect business data processes.
• Liaison with key stakeholders on ongoing DQ operations (Asset, CRM, etc.).
• Development and execution of Change Management plan for Data Governance project website, Data Discovery, Data Quality and Business Glossary initiatives.
Skills
• Strong knowledge of Data Governance & Quality - policies, processes and tools
• Working experience as a technical data steward (running Stewardship sessions, designing and building business glossaries)
• Strong understanding and experience of utility industry terms
• Knowledge / experience using Collibra Data Governance tool, strongly preferred • Knowledge / experience using Trillium Data Quality tool is a plus
Education & Certifications
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Management, or similar field of study.
• Graduate degree preferred.
• 5 years of demonstrated data governance or data quality experience
• Minimum of Level 1 Certification in Collibra required, higher level certifications preferred
