Job Description: Job Overview:
The Hardware Systems Engineering Technician will perform electronic board-level assembly, unit test and debug functions on the company's 802.11 wireless development boards and reference design platforms. These boards will be used for in-house design verification, software/firmware development and customer reference. The Engineering Technician must interface with the HWS Design Team, other HWS teams and external teams and must demonstrate familiarity with common electronic assembly and test equipment. Successful applicants will need to assimilate quickly onto an existing project, read and execute work instructions, apply strong lab skills, demonstrate problem solving abilities and work closely with engineers and other team members.
Responsibilities:
Assemble board-level and mechanical components into test assemblies.
Debug non-working assemblies.
Perform board and system level test of boards and subassemblies following direction and/or written test procedures.
Set up equipment and collect data to support WLAN Golden Bin File generation and System Level Test suites.
Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to identify, define, or solve problems that may arise during testing.
Accurately complete documentation and record data as required by test instructions.
Follow processes related to workflow, ESD procedure compliance, documentation and working in the lab environment.
Follow safety, security and company procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Solid understanding of electronic assembly and test techniques.
Basic understanding of IEEE 802.11 communication systems.
Hands-on lab test skills using Spectrum Analyzer, VSG, VSA, Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope, etc.
Must be self-motivated and an effective team player.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with office software tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
7 years industry experience in electronic board assembly and test.
Experience with scripting languages and common engineering test tools (Python, LabView, etc.).
Strong verbal and written communications skills. Able to organize effectively and document work thoroughly while working with HWS and remote teams.

AS degree in Electronic Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
