Quality Lab Technician
Geismar, LA
Rotational shift 12 hrs a day
12 month contract
Pay $25-29/hr
The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing quality assurance tests on in-process samples, raw materials, intermediates, and finished products in alignment with the Company Quality Policy. This includes using software tools to analyze data against internal and external specifications, supporting continuous improvement initiatives in both lab and plant processes, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities:
Analyzing raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to ensure they meet established quality standards.
Collaborating with the Lab Supervisor and Production teams to provide innovative ideas that enhance lab and plant processes, demonstrating continuous improvement.
Using software tools such as HCL Notes, LabWare, SAP, Microsoft Office, etc., for effective quality data reporting.
Ensuring proper operation, maintenance, calibration, and verification of lab equipment, while adhering to quality control practices.
Generating and analyzing quality data and statistical information to assist plant personnel in enhancing process control and meeting customer expectations.
Qualifications:
An Associate’s degree in Chemistry, a technical degree in analytical chemistry, or at least 2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing laboratory environment.
Basic understanding of general chemistry, laboratory instrumentation (e.g., gas chromatographs, viscometers, spectrophotometers, pH meters, titrators), and quality assurance/control techniques.
Familiarity with ISO/RCMS quality system requirements, as well as basic math and statistical principles.
Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office, Power BI, SAP, and Lotus Notes.
Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate test results and procedural information.

Physical Requirements:
