What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientist position at LanceSoft, Inc.?
Title: Analytical Chemistry Scientist - siRNA
Location: San Diego, CA - 100% Onsite
Duration: 6 months
Summary:
This position involves operating LC-MS systems to conduct in-process and final QC of modified oligonucleotides, including siRNA and ASO, for both discovery and pre-portfolio projects. The role requires optimizing and improving analytical methods for oligonucleotide synthesis and analyzing oligonucleotides using various HPLC methods and LCMS. You will also focus on automating high throughput analytical capabilities and supporting QC for lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations of mRNA. The job includes presenting data at meetings, ensuring laboratory supplies are stocked, and collaborating with assay development and biology teams
Responsibilities:
- 30% - Operating LC-MS systems to perform in-process and final QC of various scales of highly modified oligonucleotides, including siRNA and ASO, to support both discovery portfolio and pre-portfolio projects
- 20% - Optimize methods and improve analytical capabilities for novel Oligonucleotide synthesis
- 10% - Analyze and optimize methods in a project-specific way (i.e. GalNAc vs Cholesterol vs C16) by denaturing and non-denaturing HPLC methods. In addition, phosphoramidites or lipids by HPLC and LCMS.
- 20% - Establish and automate high throughput analytical capabilities and coordinate those efforts with higher synthesis throughput.
- 5% - Analyze oligonucleotides by HPLC-SEC, RP-IP and Ion-Exchange Chromatography.
- 5% - Ensure the supply of laboratory consumables and reagents are in stock as needed
- 3% - Conduct QC for lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations of mRNA
- 2% - Present data and reports on project status at individual, group, and departmental meetings
- Continue optimizing siRNAs using best-in class analytical chemistry methodologies such as different column matrixes for optimal siRNA characterization
- Support integrity confirmation requests (such as concentration) by assay development and biology teams
- Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. with a minimum of 1 years of experience performing progressively advanced duties at the Scientist level, or the equivalent training/experience is required.
- Prior experience in the characterization of oligonucleotides and/or nucleoside/nucleotide analytes is required
