System Network Security Engineer

We are searching for a talented Information Security Systems Engineering (ISSE) professional to join the Client Network Security Engineering Team supporting managed network infrastructures for federal government customers.
• This is an ON-SITE position at Client offices located in Melbourne, Florida.
• This position requires weekend, after hours support, and on-call rotations to meet program requirements.
• This position requires travel to a disaster recovery site to support if needed in an emergency.
• This position requires the ability to obtain FAA Public Trust Suitability.
Essential Functions:
• Act as primary engineering support for enterprise security gateway access control, baseline configuration management and system performance testing to ensure requirements compliance.
• Conducting and analyze network packet captures, interpreting the data and communicating the results to stakeholders.
• Supports full program development lifecycles of new Security products and services including concept, design, test, installation, operations, maintenance and disposal.
• Supports Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based security architectures to maintain compliance with customer-tailored National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) security controls.
• Manage and maintain enterprise configuration and provide internal and external (customer) tier 2 technical support for the following major systems:
o Web Application Firewall (WAF)
o Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
o Global and Local Load Balancer
o Firewall Support
o API Gateway
• Develop internal requirements, CONOPs and interface control documents from customer / product requirements.
• Develop, maintain and publish network security technical documentation in accordance with L3Harris Systems Engineering processes.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience of networking background including knowledge of data flow principles and troubleshooting of complex customer issues.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in routing protocols, VPNs, VLANs, SPANs, trunk and access ports, TCP/IP, and the OSI model.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with engineering processes including SP 800-160 Vol1.
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Experience in network security and management technologies, including but not limited to firewalls, routers, switches, IDS, WAF, and various VPN technologies.
• Experience in applying compliance standards of customer tailored NIST and FISMA controls and policies to applications and networking-related equipment.
• Experience in collecting and analyzing system logs and event data, with a focus on conducting root cause analysis using device logs or SIEM tools to document findings.
• Experience using Linux and Windows Operating Systems (OS) command-line tools.
• Prior federal telecommunications and network security experience.
• Networking Associate Level certification (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, CompTIA Network ).
• Other relevant certifications (e.g., GIAC, CISSP, Security Vendors, etc.).
• CompTIA Security certification.
