Our client is seeking a skilled Groundwater Treatment System Operator on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will oversee the groundwater extraction system, employing various physical and chemical treatment unit operations such as activated carbon filtration, clarifier with polymer injection, pH adjustment, multimedia filters, and filter press.

Our client is seeking a skilled Groundwater Treatment System Operator on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will oversee the groundwater extraction system, employing various physical and chemical treatment unit operations such as activated carbon filtration, clarifier with polymer injection, pH adjustment, multimedia filters, and filter press.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operation of pumping and controls equipment, including troubleshooting and basic repairs.
- Calibration of metering and monitoring equipment.
- Performance of basic field laboratory tests.
- Collection of samples and maintenance of documentation in record logs.
- Routine laboratory analytical testing associated with day-to-day operation/optimization of the treatment process.
- Preparation of required field and office reports of various activities and findings.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in the operation of water, wastewater, or groundwater treatment systems or related process systems involving physical and chemical treatment.
- Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance aptitude/experience essential.
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of chemical addition systems reactors, pumping systems, mixing systems, clarification and filter press systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of automated control systems and SCADA is a plus.
- Experience with treatment system start-up is a plus.
- Minimum High School diploma, or equivalent, and 5 years of related work experience, or a 2-year degree in a related field with 4 years of experience.
- Completion of a 40-hour HAZWOPER OSHA training course (with an annual 8-hour update- current preferred, expired acceptable) is preferred for industrial or hazardous wastewater operations.
- Driver's license in good standing and vehicle.
- Basic computer skills and experience with email and Microsoft office applications (Word/Excel).
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and work under inclement weather conditions.
