Required: 3 years' sales experience in cranes or heavy equipment is preferred. Strong planning, problem-solving and negotiation skills. Knowledge of cranes or related equipment. Willingness to travel with overnights.
Desired: Knowledge of Manitowoc Grove, National of various Crane Manufacture
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must possess a contagious positive attitude, one that is excited at the prospect of helping others, self assured, but not arrogant, not only book smart, but street smart, and possess unspoken integrity with visible honesty. Must have strong teamwork and organizational skills and be an independent self-starter.
Requires knowledge and understanding of general sales and business development methodologies; basic mechanical understanding; knowledge of contemporary operating concepts; knowledge of industrial construction industry and/or mobile crane market, their structure and trends.
Ability to develop solutions to complex, multi-faceted problems. Demonstrates knowledge of office practices, excellent interpersonal communication skills, business correspondence techniques and English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Demonstrates knowledge in principles of customer service, public relations and communications, record management and file maintenance. Ability to use E-Mail, Microsoft Office Suite and work effectively in a computer-oriented environment.
Ability to use tact, speak effectively and deliver presentations to small and large audiences. Requires ability to accept constructive criticism; maintain confidentiality of data; collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and use judgment for effective decision making.
Physical And Environmental Elements
This is primarily an office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
Works frequently offsite in various environments; significant travel is required. (monthly vehicle allowance with mileage reimbursement and company credit card for business expenses included.)
Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment.
Must be able to speak clearly and communicate clearly.
The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports, records, and other materials that typically weigh less than 30 pounds. Position will require traveling to customer/ client site.
Special Requirements/Certification
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record is required. Excellent safety record.

- Increase sales, rental, parts and service revenues for the company.
- Establishing new sales, parts and service accounts through cold calling and personal visits to potential customer locations.
- Provide sales support to retain existing accounts, work and close daily opportunities, continuously expanding the customer base.
- Offer our full range of products and services to new and existing customers.
- Work with all departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Educate customers about our equipment by selling features and benefits.
- Follows up with customers on all orders for parts and services to ensure they are completely satisfied with their experience
- Investigate individual customer requirements, resolve product problems in a timely fashion to foster long-term alliances. Monitor new product deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Act as primary communication link between customers and the Company. Build consensus and foster long-term alliance with customers; provide key interface between customer, marketing, and engineering or product management functions.
- Actively participate in trade shows and industry related conferences.
- Build and nurture customer relationships, by utilizing a documented distributor and key account penetration process.
- Clearly articulate company vision for business to customers.
- Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
- Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal & external).
- Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Companywide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.
- Special projects or work as assigned.
