What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Lanco?
This position conducts inspection of final assemblies and incoming components.
Essential Functions:
- Inspection of all final assemblies, incoming parts from outside suppliers, and nonconforming products.
- Provides technical support for production.
- Performs 1st article inspections and vendor audits.
- Active participant in safety programs to promote a goal of zero injuries and incidents.
- Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all company policies to eliminate and/ or reduce exposure to liability.

Competencies
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Requires knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; requires an eye for detail.
- Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Ability to interview, audit, observe, and document processes.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and work rules/ procedures.
Experience/Training/Education:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Verifiable experience with reading and interpreting blueprint drawings. Experience using various measuring devices.
Desired: 2 year certificate/ degree with 3 years of verifiable inspection experience.
Physical and Environmental Elements:
This is a production classification and employees work in a factory or warehouse environment with exposure to noise and machinery. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/ cold, wet/ humid, and dry/ arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. May be requested to work overtime and weekends. Accurate hand/ eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity as well as hand strength with ability to grasp, lift, push and pull required. Work involves considerable climbing, twisting, bending, squatting, and kneeling for long periods of time. May lift parts up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 20 lbs.
