Lancope is looking for a highly technical and influential Systems Engineer / Sales Engineer in the Northeast Region who is capable of effectively articulating technology and product positioning to a variety of audiences including C-Level Executives and advanced technical personnel. This role will serve as a field based technical solutions leader who will work closely with sales managers, prospects and partners as a subject-matter to demonstrate the technical and business value of our solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Partner with the Regional Sales Managers and partners to pursue new business opportunities by delivering technical product presentations, architecture design diagrams, product evaluation installations and on-going technical consultation to our prospects and customers.
- Analyze and understand customer requirements or pain points to translate how Lancope’s solutions can be applied to meet their needs.
- Keep abreast of competitive landscape and emerging technologies in order to best position Lancope in the marketplace.
- Develop, present, and/or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
- Provide product feature input to product management to influence future development.
Desired Experience and Skills
- 6 years of experience in a sales engineering role at a data network vendor, DPI equipment vendor, security vendor, service provider or network security company.
- 6 years of related technical experience, installing, designing, managing, administering and supporting an enterprise network.
- Proven track record of helping sales account managers close deals with Fortune 1000 customers.
- Proven ability to provide hands on technical product demonstrations and training.
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, proxies and firewalls.
- Strong understanding of network security including, DDoS, Firewall, IDS, IPS, anti-virus and common exploits.
- Solid understanding of IP network design/operation.
- Excellent Presentation, written, and verbal skills.
- Ability to travel 25-30% of time.
