ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Assess and provide interventions for patients with substance abuse disorder, addiction, and other mental health concerns
b) Use of empirically supported therapy techniques and interventions that are tailored to the presenting problem including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy, family training, solution focused, and brief interventions
c) Provide crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment
d) Collaborate with staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans
e) Refer patients or family members to community resources
f) Work in close partnership with psychology, social work, and other colleagues to meet needs of the clients and families
g) Assist clients in navigating the HHSC system which may include assistance in applying for various programs, resources or other benefits
h) Collaborate with the clinical care team and involve the client/family in the development and implementation of plans. Facilitate discharge planning across a multidisciplinary care continuum which includes interacting with colleagues or other healthcare providers to facilitate movement of the client through the Veterans Administration healthcare delivery system and arrangement of appropriate services.
i) Document findings and actions taken according to departmental guidelines; prepare reports and maintain records as required by the Joint Commission and the State licensing and regulatory agencies
j) Attend comprehensive clinical reviews to perform screening evaluations and offer support and information about resources available in general and specific to their respective populations.
k) Virtually attend and participate in staff, committee, department, and other administrative meetings.
l) Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The clinician may be assigned roles that include supervision of Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors or Counseling Interns, and potentially other clinical positions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in a counseling/mental health profession is required, such as psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, and counseling.
- Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Texas (e.g. LPC, LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT), have met all requirements for hours and are able to practice independently without supervision.
- Minimum one (1) year experience working as a therapist in mental health setting Maintain eligibility to participate in the Medicare or Medicaid programs
- Be and remain insurable for malpractice liability in accordance with the requirements of the Idaho Statutes and maintain certification by such credentialing agencies as shall be reasonable determined by Employer.
- Continuing Education to meet organizational and state licensing requirements.
