Recovery Advocates typically do the following:
· Provide minor intake services, including demographic collection, tours of the facility and in coordination with the clinical team, bed assignments and client orientation.
· Ensures clients’ safety at all times.
· Conduct searches of personal property, or personal areas when necessary.
· Obtain urine samples as required for drug testing.
· Provides client transportation, must have a valid license.
· Completes required follow up activities as assigned by lead or supervisory team members.
· Completes accurate notes reflecting shift activity.
· Assures program policies and rules are followed and reports concerns to Program Manager.
· Communicates openly with other staff members at shift changes and attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
· Provides supervision of clients when away from the facility.
· Maintains a professional, ethical relationship with other program staff, clients, and the public.
· Maintains required training for, and supervises self-administration of medication according to protocols, policies and procedures.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Travel to other agency locations (within 25 miles) as directed.
· Ability to lift 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
· Regular cleaning and/or janitorial duties may be required when necessary.
· Ability to assist in kitchen duties when required.
Skills, Knowledge and Competencies Required
· Identify a crisis and sport immediately.
· Recognize and report client behavioral changes.
· Adhere to professional standards
· Recognize personal biases working within diverse populations.
· Have reliable transportation to-and-from work.
· Familiar with regularly used computer programs such as Microsoft Word and/or Excel.
For candidates who are in recovery (who are ENCOURAGED to apply) you must have a minimum of 6 months clean/sober time to apply.
This position is an entry-level opportunity at the oldest, and most success residential and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program in southeastern Texas. Individuals who join the team as Recovery Advocates are dedicated to our client’s personal growth.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
