Position Overview: We are seeking a buyer to join our team! Land 'N' Sea Distributing is a full service, wholesale only distributor, serving the Marine and RV industries for over 50 years. With thousands of different parts and accessories available from warehouses nationwide, Land 'N' Sea prides itself on fast, efficient delivery throughout the US and Canada. In a cooperative effort with Mercury Marine's Latin America and Caribbean division, Land 'N' Sea serves over 60 additional countries worldwide.

Essential Functions
- Evaluate and review recommended order quantities and place purchase orders as needed to maintain appropriate service levels and maximize inventory turns for assigned vendors within budget
- Maintain appropriate purchasing system controls
- Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field, and be able to understand and uphold quality standards, methods and reporting as required
- Demonstrate advanced analytical and Microsoft Excel skills and ability to develop an analysis.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule for non-stock, special order items.
- Customer contact as needed to facilitate special order purchases
- Resolve receiving and accounts payable exceptions
- Perform expediting functions and update system expected arrival dates as appropriate
- Monitor purchase orders to affect pricing and part accuracy, and ensure compliance with terms and conditions as established per vendor
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Perform purchasing administrative functions, including item database system maintenance and preparing price changes from vendors
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or closely related field
- 3 years experience in purchasing, inventory replenishment or supply chain management preferred
- Proven analytical ability and excellent EXCEL skills required i.e. (VLOOKUP, Formulas, Macros)
- Broad knowledge of marine and/or RV products preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and business relationship skills
- Ability to work independently with vendors and internal clients
