Job Description:
As a Part-Time Driver, you will be a valued team member who operates small-to large-sized trucks with trailers for the safe transportation of liquid dairy ingredients and materials. On occasion, you may be required to transport other company merchandise or equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate assigned trucks with trailers within a designated farm producer area
- Maintain valid commercial operator permits and licenses for interstate and intrastate commerce
- Transport liquid dairy ingredients and materials safely and efficiently
Shift and Scheduling:
This position offers variable hours, with shifts falling between 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. You will not work the full 12 hours. During slower periods, there may be weeks with no driving hours; however, opportunities to work in production may be available.
Pay and Benefits:
Starting at $27.00 per hour. Benefits for most part-time employees include prorated PTO, holiday pay, employee development programs, prorated education assistance, and a 401(k).
Required Qualifications & Experiences:
- 18 years or older
- Basic computer skills
- Current driver's license and Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (or ability to attain) with tanker endorsement
Preferred Qualifications & Experiences:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 years of commercial driving experience
- Experience with dairy handling and transport, including quality and safety sampling
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe working environment while performing assigned tasks
- Follow all procedures, GMPs, Safety, Quality, and Sanitation plans
- Identify and report potentially non-conforming product and equipment to Supervisor and the Quality Assurance Department
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Frequent movement, including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing, and other active movements
- Perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment
- Work across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods
