Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Farm Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Purina Animal Nutrition Center. This role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities and equipment.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair: Operate and maintain farm equipment, including tractors, loaders, backhoes, and other machinery. Ensure equipment is in safe working condition and perform routine inspections and maintenance.
- Farm Facility Management: Manage the upkeep of farm facilities, including installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures. Troubleshoot issues related to water supply, drainage, and sanitation.
- Carpentry and Construction: Perform carpentry tasks, including construction, repair, and maintenance of buildings, fences, and animal enclosures. Ensure structures meet safety and functional requirements.
- Welding and Metal Fabrication: Execute welding tasks for the repair and construction of farm equipment and infrastructure. Fabricate metal components as needed for various projects.
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks on all facilities and equipment. Identify and address maintenance needs proactively to ensure optimal operation.
- Grounds Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the grounds, including operating bush hogs to keep pastures and large areas mowed, as well as commercial lawn mowers.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of tools and materials.
- Team Engagement: Work closely with other team members to support various projects and initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
