About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Farm Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Purina Animal Nutrition Center. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of our facilities and equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Operations: Operate and maintain farm equipment, including tractors, loaders, backhoes, and other machinery. Ensure equipment is in safe working condition and perform routine inspections and maintenance.
- Facilities Management: Manage the upkeep of farm facilities, including installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures. Troubleshoot issues related to water supply, drainage, and sanitation.
- Construction and Repair: Perform carpentry tasks, including construction, repair, and maintenance of buildings, fences, and animal enclosures. Ensure structures meet safety and functional requirements.
- Welding and Metalwork: Execute welding tasks for the repair and construction of farm equipment and infrastructure. Fabricate metal components as needed for various projects.
- General Maintenance Tasks: Conduct routine maintenance checks on all facilities and equipment. Identify and address maintenance needs proactively to ensure optimal operation.
- Grounds Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the grounds, including operating bush hogs to keep pastures and large areas mowed, as well as commercial lawn mowers.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of tools and materials.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to support various projects and initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
