Job Description
As a Greenhouse Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with the care and maintenance of alfalfa plants in the greenhouse, as well as performing other tasks related to alfalfa breeding.
Main Responsibilities
Some of the main responsibilities of this role include:
- Assisting with the care and maintenance of alfalfa plants in the greenhouse.
- Performing hand pollinations of alfalfa flowers, cuttings, seeding, and sorting of alfalfa.
- Working in a climate-controlled area, including sample grinding, with proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
- Driving small lawn tractors and other small vehicles to support tasks around the station, including lawn care and maintenance.
- Varying tasks depending on the season.
Requirements
This position requires:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Six months of continuous work experience.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate for this position is between $15.00 and $17.00 per hour. Land O'Lakes offers a range of benefits to eligible employees, including medical, dental, vision, PTO, life and disability insurance, education assistance, and a 401(k) plan.
