Job Title: Maintenance Technician
The Purina Animal Nutrition Center is seeking a skilled and motivated Farm Maintenance Technician to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operations: Operate and maintain farm equipment, including tractors, loaders, backhoes, and other machinery. Ensure equipment is in safe working condition and perform routine inspections and maintenance.
- Plumbing: Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures within the farm facilities. Troubleshoot issues related to water supply, drainage, and sanitation.
- Carpentry: Perform carpentry tasks, including the construction, repair, and maintenance of buildings, fences, and animal enclosures. Ensure structures meet safety and functional requirements.
- Welding and Fabrication: Execute welding tasks for the repair and construction of farm equipment and infrastructure. Fabricate metal components as needed for various projects.
- General Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks on all facilities and equipment. Identify and address maintenance needs proactively to ensure optimal operation.
- Grounds Keeping: Assist in operating bush hog to keep pastures and large areas on the facility mowed, as well as the operation of commercial lawn mowers.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of tools and materials.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to support various projects and initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in equipment operations, plumbing, carpentry, and welding.
- 2 years experience operation of a Backhoe and/or excavator is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a farm setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
