We are seeking community minded individuals with a dedication to quality product and excellent customer service. Candidates must be able to work independently and have experience in food and drink preparation, cash handling and food storage.

The cafe is located in downtown Lynn and is open from 7-3 - we are hiring. Our cafe is a social enterprise owned and operated by The Haven Project, a Lynn based non-profit. The cafe acts as a "Job Training facility", which means our baristas help to train the job training clients to become competent workers in future jobs.

$16.25/hr -includes $16.25 hourly base wage and average tips of $6 - $8 per hour

Afternoon: 12 - 3:30pm

Includes one opening day on Thursday: 6:30am-11am

Job Description:

· Train and assist staff to maintain quality control of goods sold in the café.

· Educates our customers on the superior quality of company products and services.

· Follows all company drink recipes and procedures.

· Safely handles all hot and cold drinks during drink preparation.

· Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards.

· Participates in all sales promotions effectively and efficiently.

· Enhances cafe reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

· Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with our customers by learning their names, favorite drinks, and food items.

· Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner.

· Reports all customer complaints to the Director of Career Development.

· Responds proactively to prevent customer service situations.

· Accurately rings sales orders into the cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner.

· Answers telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including, but not limited to, giving store greeting, directions to store location, and receiving and filling customer orders.

· Answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness.

· Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers.

· Maintains efficient, friendly service standards and demonstrates such standards when training other team members.

· Provides superior services and promotes a friendly, comfortable environment by providing fast and friendly service. Restocks shelves, when necessary.

· Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows, and grinders, and takes out trash.

· Assists in the distribution of weekly shipments and maintains a clean and organized storage room.

· Assist with vendor order, inventory, and ability to lift 30 pounds.

· Assist with marketing projects for the café.

· Reports potential safety hazards to the Director of Career Development.

· Reports all employee accidents to the Director of Career Development.

· Informs Cafe Manager of any operational inconsistencies.

· Run errands and work special events, when needed.

· Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate and train fellow team members/job training clients. Maintains positive morale.

· Has read and understood the Job Training Program Handbook. Participates in Job Training Program meetings, when needed.

· Reports job training client work progress to Director of Career Development.

Experience:

• Food service: 1 years (Required)
• Barista (Preferred)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

License:

• ServSafe (Preferred)
• ServSafe Manager Certificate Provided*

Language:

• Spanish (Preferred)
