Job Summary

A member of the Outlet Store team who takes direction from the Outlet Store manager in performing the day-to-day activities of the Outlet Store operations. Stocks merchandise and performs cash register transactions, required to be customer focused, operate with minimum supervision and understand business demands. Performs processing functions from donated textile / hard goods, ensuring quality textile/wares are provided to LLGI retail stores.

Essential Job Duties

  • Expedite the flow of materials between the processing, storage, dock areas and salvage
  • Ensure security and loss prevention for each item by following procedures
  • Stay abreast of position-related knowledge including brand names
  • Maintain clean and organized work area, assist with trash and salvage removal
  • Monitor and recognize security, loss prevention and safety risks and assist in their prevention
  • Participate in required training
  • Contribute to team success by involving others in work processes, decisions and actions
  • Performs all cash register transactions accurately
  • Maintain outlet store stock level and cash register according to standard
  • Follow general housekeeping standards
  • Understand and achieve quotas to meet sales goals
  • Follow outlet store procedures, ensure high quality output and take actions to correct quality problems
  • Effectively manage time to ensure that work is completed efficiently
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for the completion of job duties
  • Contribute to team success by involving others in work processes, decisions and actions
  • Place salvage products into proper containers for placement on sales floor.
  • Effectively process all salvage to meet specifications before transferring to warehouse
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Ensure that the customer’s perspective is a driving force behind customer satisfaction
  • Seek to understand the customer’s circumstances, problems, expectations and needs
  • Identify customer service issues and create solutions
  • Build customer awareness around our mission

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Credentials

Basic math skills

Requires certification as a forklift operator or ability to obtain certification within 6 months

Requires ability to complete tasks on time or communicate issues / problems with the appropriate person Builds trust by interacting with others in a way that gives them confidence

Physical Requirement

Lifts or moves up to fifty (50) pounds of clothing and house wares safely

Pushes and pulls z-racks holding up to one-hundred (100) pieces of clothing and weighing a minimum of 150 pounds

Bends and reaches into gaylords five (5) feet high to remove clothing and housewares

Requires manual dexterity to operate cash register and tagging gun

Requires the ability to perform a combination of tasks for extended periods such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing or pulling objects

Demonstrates visual acuity to evaluate donated items for quality

Requires the ability to identify smells to evaluate donations for undesirable odors - mold, must, dust, bodily fluids and/or urine

Push or pull wheeled carts with an average weight of one-hundred-fifty (150) pounds

Ability to stand for long periods throughout each work day

Working Conditions

Fast paced environment with short deadlines and regular instances of critical or unusual situations.

Scope of work includes light industrial and warehouse settings with exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, pet hair, mold and other allergens.

Subject to work in an office, light warehouse, store showroom and surrounding grounds setting Requires frequent travel to LLGI locations

Equipment and Tools Used

Personal computer equipment, cash register, credit/debit card machine, bar-code reader, shopping baskets, personal protective equipment, pallet jack, wheeled spring cart, wheeled deep cart, wheeled z-racks, hand truck, Z-racks, hand held tagging machine, basic retail equipment, furniture dollies, 4 wheel metal/plastic cages, material lifts, forklift, trash bin/can, bushel carts, trash compacter, trash dumpster, general office equipment, telephone, and fax.
