Heavy Equipment Operator
Environmental Remediation / Heavy Civil / Geotechnical Contractor
A Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of many different types of heavy equipment but not limited to the following; Excavators, Loaders, backhoes, bulldozers, articulated trucks, rollers and skid steers.
The operation of this equipment is required to assist in the task at hand commonly excavation, trenching, grading, material handling, loading and unloading and dredging.
A Heavy Equipment Operator will work in a variety of weather conditions utilizing heavy equipment on environmental / civil construction projects.
This position is required to perform the following functions;
. Operate heavy equipment to complete various assignments by safely and efficiently preforming task at hand on the job site.
. Conduct operator inspections and preform preventative maintenance checks (greasing, checking fluid levels, etc.)
. Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean and stored in safe manner.
. Follow all instructions and company guidelines as indicated from the Site Supervisor
. Ability to work in vigorous safety conscious work environment.
. Ability to communicate well and work with coworkers and customers.
Skills and Experience
Required
. 2-4 Years of Heavy Equipment Operation Experience.
. Possess a valid driver’s license.
. Must be able to lift 50 LBS. and pass a pre-employment physical assessment and drug test.
. Periodic travel is required.
Preferred
. High school diploma or vocational training in a closely related field.
. 10 hour OSHA Construction Safety Training.
. 40 hour OSHA HAZWOPER and Annual 8 hour Refresher Training
. Mechanically inclined.
. Experience with GPS enabled equipment.
