Summary of Position : The position of Front Desk Agent is one of “first impression” for guests arriving at Land’s End. The Front Desk Agent is the professional, well-groomed, smiling presence that greets guests and internal customers upon arrival. To our guests, this position is the face of Land’s End.
This position demands a strong customer service orientation, organizational skills, and an ability to multi-task while acting efficiently and precisely with computerized tasks. The Front Desk Clerk checks hotel guests into and out of their room, takes reservations, fields questions from guests and the public, and trouble-shoots guest service issues as they arise. Working well within a team is an essential requirement of the job.
Essential Functions :
- Verify, revise, make and cancel guest reservations using hotel reservation software.
- Greet guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner. Make their Day!
- Maintain money till; perform cashier services and process credit card transactions accurately.
- Understand Group and Special Event arrivals; help prepare their folios in advance of arrival.
- Coordinate arrivals and in-house guest needs with housekeeping and other departments.
- Understand concepts of City Ledger, Direct Deposit and House Accounts; Tax Exempt / Purchase Orders and Credit Card Authorization Forms.
- Post room, restaurant and tax charges to guest folios. Understand also how to post credits.
- Verify payment and guarantee status of all arrivals. Contact “no-shows” promptly.
- Process electronic reservations through Vertical Booking and Land’s End website.
- Answer phones and help with call-backs. Perform the role of reservationist as requested.
