Summary of Position: The Housekeeping Supervisor supports the Head Housekeeper and Assistant Head Housekeeper in the execution of their duties. The position assumes a lead role in the supervision of housekeeping staff in the absence of other senior management. The Housekeeping Supervisor coordinates daily check-outs through the front desk; creates room assignments by section—or floors—of the hotel.; assembles and supervises teams of housekeepers; provides for key control and entry to guest rooms; tracks and reports on the progress of housekeeping teams; enforces high cleaning standards for public areas and private guest rooms.
The Housekeeping Supervisor may, if delegated, oversee, or perform the role of Storekeeper. The position also helps train new hires; assists with ordering, receiving, stocking, and inventory tracking of supplies; generates FIXX work orders and performs “Green Room” checks. The position is expected to assist housekeepers in the execution of their duties as needed to complete daily check-ins timely.
Essential Functions:
- Lead a team by example and by setting and enforcing high standards of excellence.
- Help the teams fulfill Land’s End’s Mission to “Bring Joy to Our Customers Every Day.”
- Coordinate priorities with the Head Housekeeper and perform tasks assigned.
- Monitor progress and performance of Storekeeper; verify housekeeping carts are organized and stocked upon arrival of housekeeping staff.
- Daily, create and supervise housekeeping staff and assign them rooms to clean; provide controlled room key access; Inspect assigned rooms for cleanliness and appropriate guest amenities and working condition of equipment. Submit FIXX work orders as directed.
- Inform Head Housekeeper or Hotel Manager of furniture or appliances requiring repair.
- Assist with onboarding, orientation, and training of new hires.
- Assist management team to enforce all policies, procedures and cleaning standards contained in LEAC Employee and Housekeeping manuals, including dress code.
- Perform ongoing evaluation of housekeepers’ job performance. Assist with corrective measures or appropriate disciplinary action to ensure a high level of execution.
- Implement Land’s End Lost and Found procedures by insisting all staff report and turn in personal property left in hotel rooms.
- Retain strict confidentiality among internal and external customers.
- Fulfill the role of a housekeeper as needed to complete team mission daily.
