A leading independent advisory firm with a $7.5B managed account platform is seeking a Tax Compliance and Equity Associate to join their corporate finance group. The role involves assisting with corporate tax compliance and equity reporting obligations worldwide.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the tax team with all aspects of the firm's tax compliance process, working closely with outside advisors on corporate and partnership federal, state, local, and foreign tax returns.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations and related financial statement disclosures (ASC 740).
- Coordinate data and reporting of equity, collaborating with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate reporting.
- Assist in preparation of regulatory filings for equity plans in various countries, including documentation for annual proxy, 10Q/10K disclosures, Form 3, 4, & 5.
- Maintain accurate records for all equity transactions, including RSUs, PSUs, and Partnership Units.
- Help coordinate the partner tax reporting process, including taxable income estimates and K-1s.
- Review tax returns, K-1s/K-3s, and other partner tax reporting.
- Prepare quarterly partnership distributions, PTET estimates, and withholding estimates.
- Support the Head of Tax in process improvement and compliance with SOX and other controls.
- Respond to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices; communicate with relevant parties.
- Assist with and/or prepare tax-related U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosures for public filings.
- Perform review of filings upon completion by outside service providers as applicable.
- 3-5 years of total experience with partnership experience required.
- Experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm or other financial services/real estate organization or a combination of both.
- Experience coordinating the tax compliance process for a multinational organization or clients is strongly preferred.
- Experience with ASC 740: Accounting for Income Taxes is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree required; accounting, finance, or economics major preferred.
- MBA, Master in Taxation, or Master in Accounting degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
- Highly proficient in Excel.
