The Senior Property Accountant will play a key role in monthly partner reviews, account reconciliations, and ensuring adherence to accounting policies and procedures. What You'll Do:
- Work on general ledger monthly close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled, meeting monthly deadlines.
- Create, review, and support the preparation of journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage the preparation of rent roll reports for partner review, ensuring the accurate reflection of income and contractual terms.
- Provide monthly analysis of month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter variances, identifying trends, discrepancies, and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Assist in identify, develop, and implement process and system improvements with a focus on reducing the days to close, enhancing team efficiency, and ensuring scalability for future growth.
- Review and interpret contractual agreements to ensure accurate accounting treatment of terms, schedules, and other relevant conditions.
- Strengthen internal controls surrounding the monthly close process, ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent required, Master’s degree is a plus.
- 4 years of relative accounting experience
- Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience with ERP systems (Netsuite, experience highly valued).
- Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with a “can do” attitude and ability to multi-task while performing a variety of complex tasks.
- Experience in Airbase and Looker (or other database systems) preferred
