Position Summary
The Database Administrator is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new technologies, as required, to support the technical capabilities at Landis Gyr. To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment. This role requires good communication skills, both with team members and business contacts. In addition, the successful Database Administrator must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to work with demanding customers and demonstrate MSSQL/Postgres professional skills in a consulting manner
- Develop new or maintain existing databases based on specifications
- Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
- Implement data models and database designs into physical databases.
- Manage security of database structures and corporate data held within databases
- Develop database procedures, triggers and SQL scripts in coordination with development teams.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s)
- Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution
- Manage and support data backup strategies
- Participate in annual SOC1 and SOC2 audit attestations
- Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
- Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
- Supports and adheres to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
- Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.
Education & Experience:
Required Minimum Level of Education: High School/Equivalent
Required Minimum Years of Experience: 5 to 7
Required/Desired Certifications: MSSQL Certified DBA
Working Conditions:
Driving Status: Will drive on business for the Company 6 times or less per year.
Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSAS-18001 Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. Pay is in the range of $73,031 - $112,955 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
