Landis Gyr is seeking a Summer Intern starting in May 2025 through the beginning of August 2025 working fulltime hours on-site Monday through Friday at our Alpharetta, GA office.
This is a paid position but we don't offer a housing stipend or relocation assistance so local candidates are preferred.
Applicants should be undergraduate level students who by May will have completed their Sophomore or Junior year towards their Bachelors degree. Masters level students will not be considered.
Project Overview
The Accounting Intern will play an essential role in supporting various accounting functions within our company. This internship offers broad exposure to general ledger maintenance, variance analysis, financial reporting, and other key accounting areas.
The intern will experience firsthand how diverse accounting responsibilities can be, from handling day-to-day general accounting tasks to contributing to more complex processes such as deferred compensation, payroll, and the SAP S / 4HANA conversion project.
At the end of the summer, the intern will present a fun 10-15 minute overview introducing themselves, reviewing the tasks they handled, sharing what they learned, discussing their experience with the accounting team, and reflecting on how to apply these lessons in their future career.
Student Objectives / Responsibilities :
- Assist in General Ledger Postings - Participate in journal entry postings and account reconciliations as part of general ledger maintenance.
- Conduct Variance Analysis - Perform variance analysis during month-end closing, identifying and explaining financial discrepancies.
- Exposure to Specialized Accounting Functions – Gain experience with tasks pertaining to prepaids, leases, warranty, deferred compensation, payroll entries, short-term incentive plan postings, etc.
- Assist with SAP S / 4HANA conversion functions and trial balance testing to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Education / Experience
A student working towards their Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
