Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Directional Drill Fluid Mixing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mixing and preparing drilling fluids, monitoring their properties, and adjusting them to optimize drilling performance.
This position requires strong attention to safety protocols, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a solid understanding of construction site procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Mixing and Preparing Drilling Fluids
- Monitoring & adjusting Fluid Properties
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that mud mixing systems, mud cleaning and recycling equipment is functioning correctly and performs routine maintenance including greasing, checking fluids; etc.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
- Operate 1ton Truck with Gooseneck. (CDL Preferred)
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Collaborate with team members to execute project plans and schedules.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting materials.
- Report any malfunctions or issues with equipment to the supervisor.
- Ensure the job site is kept clean and organized.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license & Class A CDL (preferred)
- Experience in HDD or drilling projects
- 2 years of experience with directional drill fluid mixing.
- Knowledge of mud systems and the preparation, maintenance, and disposal of drilling fluids.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and follow instructions.
- Ability to lift 50lbs and perform manual labor type tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with excavators, backhoes, and loaders.
- Additional safety certifications (OSHA, etc.).
