The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the organization, development, management, and administration of day to day nursing activities, including supervision of RN, LPN, patient care and monitor technicians. They also assist in cost containment for supplies and staffing; ensuring staff receives adequate training/education to provide competent care to the patients. Typical Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
This is a salary position with a range of $75,000-$90,000 annually

Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure adequate staffing on all shifts for the provision of safe, quality patient care.
- Adjusts staff as necessary due to census and employee absences, occasionally staffing when urgently needed.
- Makes daily patient rounds and ensures participation of staff in team meetings and family conferences.
- Assesses problem situations, and after thorough investigation plans and implements corrective action.
- Ensures time reporting and payroll inputs are accurate and timely.
- Identifies recruiting needs and participates in interviews.
- Supports regulatory compliance in the nursing unit.
- Reports all unusual occurrences and problems through proper channels, and facts of a thorough investigation are provided in a written report. Incident reports are completed and submitted as required.
- Promotes an environment in which Nursing Services personnel can work cooperatively and achieve potential for growth and improvement.
- Ensures appropriate orientation of new employees is completed in a timely manner.
- Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the patients served as needed.
- Plans and assists in implementation of patient/family teaching as needed.
Requirements:
- RN License (MO)
- BLS and ACLS Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration or equivalent or If no Bachelor’s, must have Associate Degree in Nursing, and agree to actively pursue Bachelor’s with a plan to obtain degree within 2 years of starting role.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in an ICU/Critical Care environment.
- Minimum of 1 year management / supervisory experience (preferred),
- Ability to assess patients quickly in emergency situations in stressful environment.
