Join our team! We are adding a full time (30 - 36 hours a week) Physical Therapy Assistant to our acute care hospital team in SW Florida (Lehigh Acres, just a few miles east of Fort Myers). The PTA will work closely with all clinical departments - therapy, nursing, respiratory, and physicians. Landmark offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay and benefits.
Summary: The Physical Therapy Assistant provides physical rehabilitation therapy services to assigned patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities:
- Helps patients to improve their mobility through exercise and other techniques.
- Interprets and carries out protocol orders accurately and effectively.
- Develops and maintains current patient treatment plan to include patient problems, goals and interventions as it relates to therapy. Effectively evaluates the outcomes of interventions and implements necessary changes to care.
- Monitors a patient's progress and treatment, documents patient records and communicates frequently with the Physical Therapist and care provider team.
- Encourages the patient during their recovery process.
- Assists patients in performing the exercise and mobility techniques.
- Teaches patients, family members or other Caregivers skills and techniques to help with the patients' treatment program.
Physical Therapy Assistant Requirements:
- Associate degree from an Accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program (preferred)
- Physical Therapy License in state of Florida
- BLS Certification
- minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
