Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau is seeking an experienced Rehabilitation Manager to lead our dynamic Therapy department!
The Rehabilitation Manager is responsible for planning and designing, directing, integrating and coordinating services, and planning and implementing performance improvement activities for the therapy department. The Rehabilitation Manager is also responsible for supervision of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech Language Pathologists and technicians as set by hospital policy and as required by state practice acts. This is a hands-on working manager role, meaning the Manager will also be involved in the delivery of patient care as well as managing and coordinating the therapy staff.
Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Essential Duties
- Manages department staff including scheduling, timecard oversight and performance evaluations.
- Serves as a resource person for shift members in an effort to build a stronger core staff.
- Recognizes when a staff member is in need of additional assistance and either provides assistance or delegates such to ensure that the patient's care and safety needs are met in a timely matter which could also include redistributing patient loads.
- Helps to address any patient, family, nursing or physician concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Welcomes new hires, takes an active role in precepting and participates in ongoing continued education of staff as needed.
- Assesses the home environment of the patient.
- Advising on adaptive equipment or techniques to help patients with daily activities.
- Educate on compensatory strategies for memory, communication, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Helps patients to take part in everyday activities based on their unique circumstances.
- Reviews the patient's progress and updates the plan of care and goals.
- Performs administrative tasks such as documentation, participates in interdisciplinary care conference, recommends equipment and continuing services, and patient / family education.
- Participates in quality performance and improvement program in regards to therapy related measures
- Perform other duties as assigned.
