Landmark Landscapes Fleet & Equipment Technician Summary
As a Fleet and Equipment Technician you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing various vehicles and equipment in our fleet. This role ensures that all vehicles and equipment are in safe, reliable operating condition, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficiently maintain and repair various landscape equipment, trucks and trailers. This may include (but is not limited to) diesel, 2-cycle, and small gasoline engines.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment, and perform necessary repairs on engines, electrical systems, brakes, and other components.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used and hours worked, to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Provide on-site repair services for vehicles and equipment that experience breakdowns in the field to minimize operational disruptions.
- Install and configure new vehicle equipment and accessories, such as GPS systems, radios, and specialized tools.
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet safety regulations and standards. Conduct safety checks and adhere to company safety policies.
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring that necessary parts are available for timely repairs and maintenance.
- Assist with seasonal turnover of equipment between Green-Season & Snow-Season.
- Work closely with the Fleet & Facilities Supervisor, Operations Manager, drivers, and other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and address any issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in automotive or diesel mechanics is preferred.
- Valid WI Driver's license and clean driving history.
- Highly invested interest in vehicle and equipment maintenance or related field.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, mechanical repair, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Strong understanding of automotive systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
- ASE certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, perform manual labor, and work in various weather conditions. Strong physical stamina and dexterity.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities to efficiently address mechanical issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for record-keeping and coordination with team members and other departments.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure all maintenance and repair work meets safety and operational standards.
