Summary: The role of a Housekeeper in the hospitals is to ensure that all areas, including patient rooms, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and office rooms, are maintained in a clean and orderly manner that complies with OSHA, infection control, and safety guidelines. Frequent hospital housekeeping duties include mopping, vacuuming, and sweeping floors; cleaning windows and dusting furniture; and washing and changing linens on patients' beds. Housekeepers ensure that all waste is disposed of properly and supplies are maintained. Cleaning, stripping, waxing, and buffing tile floors will be a major part of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Cleans patients' rooms, common areas, ancillary areas, restrooms, locker rooms, halls, offices and any other areas that require attention
- Cleans light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows/window coverings floors and carpets
- Cleans by dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sweeping, replenishes supplies, moves furniture, and hangs draperies
- Ensures all waste is disposed of properly and supplies are maintained.
- Cleaning, stripping, waxing and buffing floors.
- Strictly follows isolated and infection control procedures and safety procedure
- Must be able to interact with patients, visitors, and coworkers in a warm, friendly and respectful manner.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Hospital cleaning experience strongly preferred
- Experience with cleaning, stripping, waxing and buffing floors.
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Must be a team player with a strong attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must pass background check
