Landmark of Rayne is currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team and assume the role of RN Supervisor. The position available is part-time every other weekend (8-hour shifts), time flexible.
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible to and works closely with the Assistant Director of Nursing. He/She plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the nursing functions for the professional and non-professional nursing personnel to ensure the highest quality of care is provided in a cost-effective manner with the residents in the facility. This is done in an efficient and timely manner with consideration for both health care and legal responsibilities of the resident, the facility and the employees.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Ensures that each unit is appropriately staffed at the beginning of the shift. Makes adjustments as necessary, replacing staff as needed for the oncoming shift.
- Makes rounds at the beginning of the assigned shift and frequently thereafter.
- Assists with care as necessary to assure quality care is provided. This may include but not conclusive of assisting with ADLs, giving medications, doing treatments, supervising and assisting with meal service, calling physicians, transcribing orders, etc.
- Assess each resident in acute distress or unusual situations during the scheduled time in the facility.
- Recognizes significant changes in the condition of residents and takes appropriate action.
- Reports any resident care problems to the Director of Nursing on a timely basis.
- Reviews nursing communication systems of the previous shifts to assure adequate follow up is provided for each situation.
- Reviews the clinical records to assure documentation is complete.
- Documents on those clinical records requiring supervisory assessment and intervention
- Reviews and formulates plans of care as needed. Assists with assessments and reassessments as assigned in preparation for care plan conference and updates.
- Works as staff relief in emergencies.
- Coordinates activities between nursing and other departments.
- Performs additional duties as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
