Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting the overall financial health of our organization. This position requires proficiency in financial software and a solid understanding of accounting practices.
Duties
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks, including setup and transaction management.
- Manage data transfer between QuickBooks and ticketing and payroll software packages.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of all bank and investment accounts and maintain banking relationships.
- Assist in creating monthly financial statement reporting packages for the Executive Director and Board.
- Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and cash flow forecasting.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget in collaboration with the Executive Director, Managing Director, and department heads.
- Coordinate the annual audit with external auditors for timely completion and tax filing.
- Provide support for grant applications and grant reporting.
- Bar accounting and sales tax prep & filing
- Manage petty cash and credit card accounts, ensuring all charges have proper support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within finance or accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in accounting; non-profit accounting experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in financial software and accounting software, with experience using QuickBooks being a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and practices.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and accounts payable processes.
- Excellent 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry and record management.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 24 per week
