Job Description

As an Accountant II – Financial Reporting, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. Your responsibilities will focus on financial reporting, grant oversight, and collaboration with project managers.

Reports to: Accounting Supervisor - Financial Reporting

Direct Reports: N/A

Duties/Responsibilities: The duties listed below are an outline of the Accountant II’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.

  • Prepare, review, and process financial documents for accurate reporting in the general ledger.
  • Maintain balance sheet accounts and monthly schedules.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements on a quarterly basis.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable subledgers to the general ledger.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers on financial status updates.
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Focus in Accounting, Finance or relevant field preferred.
  • CPA License preferred.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and databases.
  • Demonstrated experience leading accounting and financial close processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel user who understands and applies advanced Excel features.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills as you work to deliver results internally across the organization.
  • Proactive attitude geared towards efficiency and improvement of processes as company and responsibilities grow.
